Take-Two Interactive revealed in  its quarterly earnings report that it has delayed the console versions of XCOM 2 until September 27, 2016, in North America and September 30, 2016 in Europe. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One releases were initially planned for release on September 6, 2016.

Originally released on PCs earlier this year, XCOM 2 will be arriving in two forms on consoles: the Standard Edition and the Digital Deluxe Edition. Pre-ordering the Standard Edition will grant players the Resistance Warrior cosmetic item pack and an additional recruit known as "Survivor of the Old War". The Digital Deluxe Edition will come with the above as well as all previously released DLC packs.
