Kalypso Media and Games Farm have announced a new action RPG, Vikings: Wolves of Midgard. This title will follow the efforts of a clan of disenfranchised Midgard warriors known as the Ulfung as they attempt to stop the Jotan from seeking vengeance against the gods of Asgard.

Set during the freezing Fimbulwinter, players will not only fight the monsters of Ragnarok, either solo or with a friend via online co-op, but must also survive the stark and extreme weather. While fighting beasts, players will earn blood that can be sacrificed to the gods for skill and ability upgrades as well as unique artifacts belonging to the gods that will give some of their power. The game will feature several different classes of weapons, a New Game+ mode, and a Path of the Gods challenge mode, which will reward the player with powerful equipment and runes. Vikings will also have a city-building element, as the Ulfung can begin to reconstruct their village. Different vendors and craftsman will become available and will be able to be upgraded to provide better equipment.

Vikings is set to release digitally in early 2017 on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Mac, and Linux. While no price was given for the game, once the game is able to be pre-ordered on Steam it will come with a 15 percent discount and a cosmetic pack for the game, which will contain items for both male and female characters.,
