The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel is set to release in North America and Europe this holiday season for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, and XSEED Games has now announced a limited edition for the game in North America. The Lionheart Edition features an artbook with over a hundred pages from the game and its sequel, Trails of Cold Steel II, and a 1.5" pin featuring the emblem of Erebonia, the fictional country where the game is set. The edition is packaged in a collectible box that features space for Trails of Cold Steel II when it releases in 2016. Trails of Cold Steel's Lionheart Edition is priced at $49.99, with the base game costing $39.99.

Trails of Cold Steel is set on the same continent as Trails in the Sky, which was released in North America in 2011 with its sequel also set for release later this year on PC and PlayStation Portable. Although the game is set after the events of Trails of the Sky and its Second Chapter, XSEED Games has stated that the sets of games can be played in any order.
