inXile Entertinment has released the debut trailer for its upcoming title, Torment: Tides of Numenera. The three-minute video, viewable below, uses pre-alpha footage and gives an initial introduction to the narrative themes and the role of choice in the game.

Like inXile Entertainment's other recent title, Wasteland 2, which released today, Torment: Tides of Numenera has been funded through a successful Kickstarter campaign. The game is a spiritual successor to Planescape: Torment and uses the setting from Monte Cook's Numenera tabletop RPG. Torment: Tides of Numenera is currently expected to be released in late 2015.
