Pokémon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire

The Pokémon Company International recently unveiled several new pieces of information on the upcoming third generation remakes, Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. A new trailer, which can be seen below, features several returning Gym Leaders and Elite Four members, including Fighting-type Leader Brawly, the Normal-type Leader and your character's father Norman, and the Dark-type specialist Sidney. Though not shown in the below trailer, Steven Stone was stated to be returning as the Hoenn region Champion, in contrast to Pokémon Emerald, in which the Champion is the former Water-type Gym leader Wallace.

Related to the Champion, the Steel/Psychic Metagross, the signature Pokémon of Steven, was also revealed to get a Mega Evolution. Its Ability will change to Tough Claws, which raises the power of moves that makes physical contact with the opponent. Most of Mega Metagross's stats, especially its low speed, will get a boost.

Pokémon-Amie, a feature which allows players in Pokémon X and Y to bond and play with their creatures, will also be in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Also revealed in the trailer are five "Cosplay Pikachu." Dubbed Pikachu Rock Star, Pikachu Belle, Pikachu Pop Star, Pikachu Ph.D., and Pikachu Libre, these electric mice apparently have a connection to the contest hall, which hints at the return of Pokémon Contests. Their exact relevance will not be further explained until some time in August.

Lastly, some more information was unveiled on the Mythical Pokémon Diancie's Mega form. The only sixth generation Pokémon so far able to Mega Evolve, it will gain the Magic Bounce Ability, which reflects status aliments and debuffs back at the opponent. Mega Diancie will also receive a boost in speed and attack at the expense of its defense and special defense. The Pokémon Company stated that details as to how to obtain the event legendary will be announced soon.

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be released in North America on November 21 of this year and a little later in Europe on November 28. More screenshots can be viewed here and artwork here.
