Following up from the recent reveal of the first expansion to Diablo III, John Hight, the Production Director for Diablo III: Reaper of Souls has announced that the Real Money and Gold Auction Houses will be removed from the PC version of Diablo III.

The shutdown is scheduled to take place on March 18, 2014. Blizzard has also provided a video with some further information about how they reached this decision.
