In an interview with GameStar, ZeniMax Online General Manager Matt Firor confirmed that The Elder Scrolls Online will be using a subscription model when it launches next year on PC, Mac, Xbox One, and PS4. Firor stated that the first thirty days after purchase will be free, but after that, players will need to pay a monthly fee for unlimited access. The basic monthly charge is set to be $14.99/€12.99/£8.99, although players can expect discounts for buying multiple months at a time, and game time cards will also be supported. In addition to this news, some new screenshots for the game were unveiled at this year's Gamescom, which can be viewed below.
