Spiderweb Software recently announced that it will be releasing Avernum 6 on the iPad. The title of the port is Avernum 6 HD, though exact details on the iPad version have yet to be disclosed. Avernum 6 HD is set for release on October 10, 2012.

Avernum 6 is the last game in the Avernum series and focuses on the underground nation of the same name facing a terrible calamity. As its staple crop of mushrooms has been hit by a blight, the people are unable to fight off an invading horde of reptilian creatures called the Slithzerikai. The game was originally released for Macintosh in late 2009, then for Windows in March 2010.
