What began as a character illustration by Japanese artist Huke, has now spun into a manga, an anime, and a PlayStation Portable title. Black Rock Shooter: The Game developed by imageepoch just released in Japan on Aug. 25, 2011 and has now been confirmed for North America and Europe by NIS America. The game currently has no release date, but NISA producer Jack Niida states, "We have not finalized a release date yet, but we are working hard to get it out as soon as possible."
Black Rock Shooter is an action RPG that takes place on Earth in the year 2032 where the planet has been devastated over the past nineteen years by extraterrestrials. In a last ditch effort to save the planet, the survivors create the ultimate battle android, BRS. This localization is the first release in the partnership between imageepoch and NIS America that began back in Dec. 2010.
