The Lord of the Rings: War in the North

The Lord of the Rings: The War in the North is slowly drawing closer to its release this fall. As such, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has finally released information on all the stuff players will potentially be able to get alongside the game.

First, the publisher has announced the contents of the War in the North Collector's Edition. This set will contain a fancy quiver-shaped case, an art book featuring concept art from the game, a collection of interviews and footage about the development of the game's music, and three tracks from the War in the North soundtrack. In addition to all of that, the PlayStation 3 version of the game will include a digital Theme Pack containing wallpapers, fonts, and icons for the PS3, and the Xbox 360 version will include a set of ranger-themed Avatar items. This set will be priced at $129.99.

In addition, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced a wide range of retailer-specific preorder bonuses for the standard edition of the game. Fans who order early from Amazon.com will get the second part of the War in the North digital prequel comic and a Orc Champion sword that can be used in the game. Preordering from Toys 'R' Us will get fans a poster signed by Jim Lee and both the first and second parts of the digital prequel comic. Target offers three tracks from the game's official soundtrack. Preording from GameStop will net fans the Human Theme Pack and access to the Osgiliath Challenge Map. The Elven Theme Pack can be acquired from Best Buy along with the Lothlorien Challenge Map. Wal Mart completes the racial sets with the Dwarven Theme Pack. Each racial Theme Pack contains a set of in-game equipment for the respective race.
