Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII is less than a week away from release in Japan, and Famitsu has squeezed out some last minute information before launch. Famitsu sat down with executive producer Yoshinori Kitase, producer Hideki Imaizumi, character designer Tetsuya Nomura, and director Hajime Tabata to discuss the upcoming release.

Imaizumi stated that Crisis Core can be played by gamers of all skill levels. For those players looking for a bigger challenge there will be 300 extra missions geared to veteran gamers. With all of those side quests and crisp stunning graphics no wonder that Imaizumi also mentioned that the game almost fills an entire UMD.

Later in interview they discussed the origins of Crisis Core and how the game came about. Imaizumi said that the original idea was to make a port of the upcoming cellphone game, Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII. Nomura believed that they should create a game with more meaning to the series, and thus the idea of telling the story of Zack came about. Kitase mentioned that the decision to develop Crisis Core only took two days.

The last bit of information Imaizumi left was that a new game in some form will be announced at the Tokyo Game Show later this month. He did not state what the game was, but he did tell readers that they should look forward to it.

While more information on Crisis Core will be known soon because of its September 13 release date, details on the unknown game will stay a mystery until TGS on September 20. We will be sure to let you know more information once Square Enix announces the title.
