RPG fans in Europe whose Wiis and DSs are starved for attention can finally rejoice. Nintendo announced this week that both Super Paper Mario for the Wii and Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland for the DS will be headed to Europe September 14.

Super Paper Mario, the latest in the Paper Mario series, allows players to flip between 2D and 3D play as Mario attempts to rescue, Luigi, Peach and even Bowser from the mysterious Count Bleck. And while Super Paper Mario was released in North America in April, meeting with widespeard acclaim, Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland has yet to see release outside of Japan.

The quirky Legend of Zelda spinoff features none other than Tingle, a short, pointy-eared man in green leotards with a fixation on rupees who has been a recurring character in the Zelda series since Majora's Mask. In September 2006 Japanese gamers were able to take control of Tingle and help him in his quest to obtain the rupees he needs to open the gateway to the paradise of Rupeeland.

Tingle's quest begins when Uncle Rupee reveals to Tingle the secret of a mysterious pond: the path to Rupeeland will open from the pond when sufficient rupees are tossed into it. With this knowledge, Tingle sets off on his journey to amass enough wealth to open the way to rupee paradise. In order to do this, he will complete sub-quests (for a fee, naturally) and explore dungeons in order to make maps to sell to hapless travelers for an exorbitant price, as players of past Zelda games can attest to. With a lack of special powers at his disposal, however, Tingle has to shell out some of his hard earned rupees to hire bodyguards, since any injury Tingle sustains leads to decrease in his funds.

Tingle's control scheme relies heavily on the stylus. Movement is controlled by either the direction pad or the XYAB buttons while all other functions use the touch screen. The "payment screen" relies on a numeric keyboard which appears on the touch screen and which players can tap with their stylus.

Super Paper Mario will see an estimated retail price of 35 pounds, while Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland will sell for approximately 25 pounds. There has been no word yet on a North American release for Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland.
