Those who are looking forward to the English localization of Magna Carta: Tears of Blood (Crimson Stigmata in Japan) should take interest in a new development in the future of the series. Namely, the announcement of Magna Carta 2, which will be codeveloped by Banpresto and SoftMax for the Xbox 360.
Magna Carta 2 will see release for Microsoft's next-gen console worldwide some time in 2007. Otherwise, details are scarce about this title.
Magna Carta 2 will in actuality be the third title in the Magna Carta series, being proceeded by Magna Carta: The Phantom of Avalanche and Magna Carta: Tears of Blood. The Phantom of Avalanche was originally released in Korea for the PC in 2002. Unfortunately, a very fatal bug resulted in a recall of the game. In 2004, SoftMax announced Tears of Blood, and it was announced just prior to E3 that Atlus had picked up the title's English localization. Magna Carta: Tears of Blood has been given a tentative North American release date of November 15 by Atlus, but this date is likely to be altered in some fashion.
