Square Enix has confirmed that the company will be adding the new character class of Blue Mage in the expansion, Final Fantasy XI: Treasures of Aht Urhgan. These fighter-mages use curved blades when battling opponents up close and will also be able to master their enemies' magic and use it to destroy them from afar.

The expansion was only just announced during the Tokyo Game Show two weeks ago, and has yet to receive a release date. The subtitle, Treasures of Aht Urhgan, was trademarked in North America on July 7, which points to the game having been in development in Japan for some time.
