The Tokyo Game Show started today in Japan and it didn't take Square Enix long to make a few announcements, with one of the bigger ones for Kingdom Hearts II. The company announced that Sora and friends will hit stores in Japan on December 22, just in time for Christmas.

At this time, Square Enix in North America has a Winter 2005 release scheduled, though, this could change at any time. Tetsuya Nomura just shipped his last project, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children in Japan this week and he has stepped up the production on Kingdom Hearts II to be able to hit this launch date.
