In the space between its initial confirmation of existence and the Square Enix Party 2005 , little was mentioned about the fifth installment into Square Enix's Front Mission series. After a year-long lull of silence, it was reiterated once again at this event that Front Mission 5 was indeed in development for the PlayStation 2, and a trailer for the game was shown. Now, Square Enix has officially unveiled what is now known as Front Mission 5: Scars of the War through an official teaser site.

The site is fairly basic, and doesn't contain a wealth of information. There is, however, a streaming trailer to download, as well as a revelation that the game will see a Japanese release some time in December.

The subtitle "Scars of the War" was trademarked in the United States earlier in the year. While one would assume that this would reflect upon the status of its domestic localization, nothing is certain as of yet.
