Turbine has announced that they will shut down their Santa Monica studio in late December, near the December 30th closing date of Asheron's Call 2. The shut down is due to the movement of Turbine's business operations from the Santa Monica office to its Westwood, Massachusetts headquarters over the last several months. The ten employees of the Santa Monica office will be invited to relocate to the headquarters.

The studio was most notably used in the development of the original Asheron's Call. The company is currently developing the MMORPGs The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar and Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach.
