Lunar: Dragon Song

Marvelous Interactive has released more Lunar: Dragon Song details, just one month before the game's Japanese release. The first bit of news involves two new characters: Rufus Clow and Flora Banks. Rufus is a mercenary beastman with dominant swordsman skills and bravery both on and off the battlefield. Flora is a high-spirited bowmaster who lives in a mine and loves entertaining her friends.

Details have also emerged regarding two battle modes: a normal mode and a pious mode. The normal mode involves fighting enemies as usual and obtaining monster cards and other items as rewards. Switching to pious mode involves using a special item while on the field map. The mode begins when an enemy is encountered, and enemies must be "cleansed" instead of defeated. Victory is rewarded with experience points instead of cards or items.

Lunar: Dragon Song will be released on August 25 in Japan and this September in North America. Marvelous Interactive will publish the game in Japan, and Ubi Soft will publish it in North America. The game is expected to retail in Japan for 4,800 yen ($42.99 USD).
