Growlanser Generations

Growlanser Generations has gone through a lot waiting to get a final release date. It took quite a few tries just to get Sony to approve it's release for North America. Now it appears that the game won't make its scheduled September release according to a post by Vic Ireland on Working Designs' forums:

"Don't have a heart attack, I'm really posting. It's amazing that there have been almost 1000 posts since the last time I checked in!

Getting Growlanser Generations sewn up along with everything else going on got intense to the point that I had to stop doing almost all net posting to get it DONE. Now that the game is on the cusp of approval and the ad materials are done I can breathe a little. All that's left is a little work on the final packaging production details and it will be all GO.

Deluxe pack buyers are really going to be amazed. The watch and other stuff are great, but the soundtrack, especially, has turned out amazing. The extended arrangements are probably the best of any soundtrack we've released. The samples in the GG area of our site a just a small barometer of what else is on that disc. I wish it was $69 and everyone got the deluxe pack, but we're trying the limited run deluxe and regular no-frills version, which bumps up the deluxe but gives people a choice. We'll be watching closely to see how it works out.

Final review copies of Growlanser II and III plus the soundtrack go out beginning tomorrow. Online reviews should show up in about 3-4 weeks and mag reviews in about twice that. Magazine ads will begin to show up in November issues (starting with OPM) and run through the holidays.

Now that we're in the 30-45 day window preorders will begin to be taken starting on Monday or Tuesday. Look for details of preorder premiums and the actual announcement of which day they'll begin in the Newsroom soon.

Thank you all for not losing faith that this would, indeed, see the light of day in the US. We wouldn't have fought for it if it were some generic clone RPG with no inspiration. The payoff for your faith and our work is that Strategy/RPG fans will have something really special to play soon.

Don't Believe the Hype."

The above statement basically means that the game will still have to wait 30-45 days before it's release into stores while review copies themselves have been shipped to media sites. The good news, through all of this, is that the game has indeed been completed and will be available in stores, hopefully, by early November.
