Neverwinter Expansion with Epic Enhancements

As if the title didn't give it away, a new expansion for Neverwinter Nights is going to be hitting shelves this fall. Titled Hordes of the Underdark, it will obviously feature a range of content geared towards adventures in the subterranean realms popularized by authors such as R.A. Salvatore.

The story section of the expansion will be composed of a new, roughly 20 hour long, single-player campaign, which will follow the exploits of players as they try to save the city of Waterdeep from an ancient evil buried within Undermountain. To spruce up this adventure, the expansion will also feature a host of new creatures, new weapons and spells to destroy them with, and a number of new character voice sets to make the long tunnel treks less tiresome. In addition, players will have a wider range of customization abilities for their characters as the expansion will include a number of new feats; a selection of new prestige classes, including a druidic shape-shifter; and most importantly, the ability for characters to reach Epic levels of play and continue their exploits all the way to level 40.

Finally, for those people which desire crafting and control over the thrills of adventure, Hordes of the Underdark will include two whole new tilesets for the Aurora Toolset, as well as a bunch of additional content. RPGamers can plan to look for all this content to hit stores around November 2003.
