Capcom Lifts Fog Surrounding Breath of Fire V Release Dates; Top Musicians To Collaborate On Soundtrack

Finally choosing to pin down a definitive release date for it's newest RPG, Capcom has announced that Breath of Fire V: Dragon Quarter for the PlayStation 2 will street on November 14th in Japan. A more nebulous 'November' date had previously been listed as the release date.

Additionally, Capcom revealed that will be employing formidable musical talent for the production of Breath of Fire V: Dragon Quarter. Hitoshi Sakamoto, one of the composers responsible for Final Fantasy Tactics' musical score, will be producing the musical score, with musical heavyweight Yasunori Mitsuda (Xenogears, Chrono Cross) directing. While it is not known exactly who will end up with what percentage of the composing tasks, the musical excerpts found on Capcom of Japan's website show influences of both mens' styles.

BoF V follows the tale of Ryu, who is a security officer in the underground city of Shelter. Ryu must investigate the terrorist group Trinity and find out what it hopes to accomplish. No mention of whether the title will be released in North America has yet been made, although there is a good likelihood it will be.
