Skies of Arcadia Details Emerge

Sega has provided more concrete details on its upcoming GameCube port of Skies of Arcadia, as well as a setting a time frame for the game's release. Of notable importance is the addition of a brand-new character. Although the character was not named, Sega did say that the character would be a female bounty hunter who wields a large sickle. Sega will also be adding new cinemas to the game, in part to incorporate the new character into the storyline. The graphics will be mostly the same as the original Dreamcast version, with minor tweaks to compensate for the GameCube's hardware. While not providing a specific release date, Sega plans to have the port available in Japan by the end of the year. No mention was made of a North American release date.

Skies of Arcadia was originally released in September of 2000 on the Dreamcast to positive public response and critical acclaim. Both PS2 and GameCube ports have been in the works for some time, but have encountered unexplained delays along the way.
