Microsoft jovially sent word recently that the first wave of beta testers for their upcoming online RPG, Asheron's Call 2, have been notified via e-mail of their great fortune. Randomly selected members of the Asheron's Call gaming community were invited to join the beta testing through a series of e-mails. These contain information on how to join the beta process, as well as a link to the official Asheron's Call 2 Community site.

That's not all, though. During the time up until the release of the retail version of Asheron's Call 2, Microsoft and Turbine plan to increase the numbers of beta testers to be notified. Presumably, such an action would be taken to test server capabilities and other such aspects of the system — a stable environment is essential for the final product.

Microsoft also stated that it plans to announce when the second wave of invitations are sent, and that this event would take place "hopefully soon." Keep watching RPGamer for information on the second wave of invites, and in the meantime, check out our current coverage of Asheron's Call 2.
