Funcom Spreads Anarchy
Anarchy Online

Just four months after the game's North American release, Funcom announced today that its MMORPG Anarchy Online will take a price cut. The European version of the game is slated to hit stores on the continent on the 28th of September, at a price of 32.99 euros ($29.99), and the publisher has decided to decrease the price of the domestic version in order to have a standard price in all territories. The title has already garnered sales in excess of 100,000 copies in North America and Norway, and, by decreasing the price, Funcom hopes to increase its exposure. In addition to this, Funcom also announced a "try-before-you-buy" policy, whereby interested gamers can download the game for free and test it out for seven days.

"We know there are players out there, with connections to the internet, who are just waiting for the right opportunity to see what online gaming is all about. This is that opportunity," said Funcom president Andre Backen. "We are excited to allow new players to join in with the thousands of other people playing Anarchy Online at any one time, and to get a feel for the community that has been created there, before having to pay for the initial cost of the game."

Gamers interested in trying out the game can visit Funcom's official game site. Those interested in previous information pertaining to the title can check out RPGamer's Anarchy Online page.
