Final Fantasy X Voice Acting and Merchandising Details
Final Fantasy X

In addition to the aforementioned information, Square's press release contained a couple additional nuggets. The identities of some of Final Fantasy X's major voice actors have been announced, and fans can breathe a sigh of relief. There was a general fear that substandard actors would be chosen, but Square has opted to go for people with experience in Hollywood. James Arnold Taylor, who previously portrayed Walla on Matt Groening's Futurama, takes the part of Tidus, while Hedy Burress, fresh from her guest appearances in Gideon's Crossing and 1996's If These Walls Could Talk, will make her voice-over debut by breathing life into Yuna.

As expected for a game of this magnitude, look for a merchandising blitzkrieg to accompany Final Fantasy X's domestic release. ArtFX will be responsible for everything from action figures, vinyl statues and plush dolls to lunch boxes, posters, t-shirts and wallscrolls. Expect the first wave of merchandising, which will include t-shirts and posters, to hit just before the game's release. TokyoPop will be making sure that fans will be able to ensconse themselves in the game's aural offering when the soundtrack hits stores in January.
