To accompany the screens and art that were posted over the weekend, we have a couple more details for the upcoming Dragon Quest IV PlayStation remake, thanks to an official press release from Enix. As showcased in the aforementioned screenshots, the game now contains 3D backgrounds, much like the smash-hit Dragon Quest VII. Enix has high hopes for the remake, and has announced a sales target of one million units. The game will retail for 6,800 ¥ ($56) when it is released, which should be sometime before the end of the year in Japan.
Dragon Quest IV was originally released for the Famicom in Japan in 1990 and sold like gangbusters, with 3.1 million copies flying off the shelves. It was also the last installment of the series to get a North American release. No mention has been made of whether the remake of the title will hit the continent, but RPGamer will keep you informed as more details are made public.
