Final Fantasy Chronicles Tops Sales Charts Six Weeks in a Row
Final Fantasy Chronicles

While there might not be too many RPGs on the PS2 at the moment, the PlayStation is overflowing with quality games. A lack of next-generation titles, together with the re-release of fan favorites, has precipitated a run of successful offerings for the ailing console. Especially notable is Final Fantasy Chronicles, which collects Final Fantasy IV and Chrono Trigger. Despite some initial compatibility problems, the title has consistently found itself at the top of the NPD TRSTS PlayStation sales charts since its market entry six weeks ago.

Final Fantasy Chronicles marks the first appearance on the PlayStation of two classic Super Nintendo-era Square games that had fans champing at the bit for a domestic release, following their appearance in Japan last year. Final Fantasy IV is notable in that it has a completely new translation, as well as a higher difficulty level. For more on Final Fantasy Chronicles, check out RPGamer's dedicated page.
