From Software has officially announced their Gamecube RPG, tentitavely titled Rune. A card battle RPG, Rune asks players to collect cards from various locales in order to increase their experience and to change their character class. Battles take place in real-time and consist of choosing the appropriate cards to defeat enemies. A multiplayer mode for battling against friends' cards will also be included.

Rune will be shown during this month's Spaceworld show, before the title's Japanese release this fall. As one of the only RPGs announced so far for Gamecube, expectations for the title are high. Stay tuned as RPGamer will have more information on it and other RPGs presented at Nintendo's gala event.
