Dreamcast Baldur's Gate Gets Nixed

The great gaming guru in the sky giveth, and he also taketh away. Such is the case with the Dreamcast version of the smash hit PC RPG, Baldur's Gate. The title was to be published by Sega and was scheduled to be one of the Dreamcast's first online RPGs. However, Sega dropped the ball yesterday by announcing that the game will not be released for the beloved white box.

Sega gave no reasons as to why Baldur's Gate was cancelled, and all we can do for now is speculate. Is this because of network problems? High development costs? Poor sales projections? Whatever the reason, fans who had hoped to get their Baldur's Gate fix on the Dreamcast will surely be disappointed. Stay tuned to RPGamer for any further details that may surface.
