Enix has just announced it will be publishing Tri-Ace's (the company known for the Star Ocean series) Valkyrie Profile. The game will be based on Norse mythology. Players play the role of a valkyrie set out to collect and raise dead souls. These souls are then sent to battle the gods in Valhalla. The battle system will have a new button system, where each button will be assinged to one of the players characters. Pressing a combination of buttons will cause the character to "cast combination attacks."

Valkyrie Profile is scheduled for a winter 1999 release in Japan.
