As rumored and reported recently on RPGamer, Square Co. of Japan has confirmed that they are working on a sequel to an existing RPG series, as well as yet another title.

   Gaming Age's Japanese news correspondent Ike Sato reported that Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon 2 is in development and is expected to be released before Christmas in Japan. Additionally, Square is carrying the chocobo theme futher with a racing game, tentatively titled "Chocobo Racing," and is due out in Japan sometime around Spring 1999.

   Although many gamers were expecting a sequel to a popular American title or series such as Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana, the news shouldn't be taken negatively. While the unpopular Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon was never released in North America, the sequel to the game may attract a larger following and could possibly be released to an English audience.
