World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth

Blizzard has announced that the newest expansion for MMORPG World of Warcraft, World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth, will be released on August 14, 2018. The digital standard and Digital Deluxe Editions are available to pre-purchase now, with those who do receiving a copy of the previous expansion Legion for free, and there will also be a retail-exclusive Collector’s Edition. The Collector's Edition is priced at $99.99/€99.99/£89.99 and includes:

  • Horde and Alliance double-sided Mark of Allegiance (which weighs just under 1lb)
  • Hardcover double-sided book containing the two novellas Elegy and A Good War (both of which depict the Burning of Teldrassil), written by Christie Golden and Robert Brooks respectively
  • Battle for Azeroth digital soundtrack download key
  • All the content of the Digital Deluxe Edition

Those who have pre-purchased a digital edition and want to upgrade to the Collector's Edition will receive a credit equivalent to the cost of the digital copy in Blizzard Balance, provided players enter the Collector’s Edition key before 11:59pm PST on December 31, 2018.

Originally announced in November, Battle for Azeroth follows on from the events of Burning Legion, and sees the rivalry between the Horde and the Alliance reignited. The level cap will once again be raised, this time to level 120, with players who purchase the expansion being able to instantly boost to the previous level cap of 110.
