Developer YummyYummyTummy revealed that its 2D RPG Fallen Legion will be released digitally in North America and Europe on July 25, 2017. However, rather than publishing the same game on the two platforms, the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita releases will each tell two different tales from different perspectives in the overall saga.

The PlayStation 4 version of the game, Fallen Legion: Sins of an Empire, will follow Princess Cecille and her talking grimoire as she tries to restore her family's empire, while the PlayStation Vita version, Fallen Legion: Flames of Rebellion, will follow Legatus Laendur, who is leading an army in an attempt to overthrow the royal family. The game will feature various choices and story paths for players to explore based on their decisions.
