Koei Tecmo this week announced a western release for Toukiden 2: Free Alliances Version, a free-to-play version of action RPG Toukiden 2. In the Free Alliances Version, players will be able to take on Group Missions with up to four other players online. Each mission has an associated stamina cost, with players starting out with three stamina and replenishing one every eight hours. In addition to waiting, stamina can be replenished by buying Gems via the PlayStation Store, which will also bump up the maximum stamina value to eight. The free-to-play version will also grant players access to the first chapter of the full game's story campaign.
Toukiden 2: Free Alliances Version is set to be released for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on May 30, 2017. If players wish to upgrade to the full version of the game, they will be able to transfer their save data and progress from the Free Alliances Version.
