Final Fantasy XII is the newest Final Fantasy title to receive a remaster, Square Enix announced today. Titled Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, the remaster will be released worldwide for PlayStation 4 in 2017. It will be based on the International Zodiac Job System version of the game, previously released only in Japan.
In addition to the changes made to the IZJS version, which include twelve job-specific License Boards based on signs of the zodiac plus controllable guest characters and an optional trial mode, The Zodiac Age will feature upgraded graphics plus 7.1 surround sound and a re-recorded musical score. Players will have the option to switch between the original and new versions of the soundtrack as well as English and Japanese voice-overs, with trophies and autosave support also included.
