As part of its PlaySation Underground series, Sony got a hands-on demo of Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness. The commentated, twenty-minute video shows off quite a bit of the game's exploration and combat as well as some character progression and item production.

Additionally, a related blog post went more in-depth on the elements of the game's battle system. The simplest of these are the basic acts of weak and strong attacks plus blocking, which act in a rock-paper-scissors fashion. Getting more complex, Special Arts and Signeturgy are skills learned through reading books and function differently based off of the distance to the target. Finally, there is the Role system, which governs party AI while not under the control of the player. Starting with standard options such as Attacker and Healer, Roles will grow with the characters, offering more specified classes such as Insect Slayer or Invoker.

Developed by Tri-Ace, Integrity and Faithlessness marks the fifth game in the Star Ocean series and the first to arrive on PlayStation 4. The game will be available on June 28, 2016 in North America and July 1, 2016 in Europe.
