Independent developer Spiderweb Software announced Avadon 3: The Warborn, the final chapter in its Avadon trilogy of games following Avadon: The Black Fortress and Avadon 2: The Corruption. The game is planned for release in fall 2016 for PC, Mac, and iPad.

The player character in Avadon 3 is one of the Hands of Avadon. An artibiter of law combining the roles of warrior, spy, judge, and executioner, players are looked to for help when the lands are invaded by monsters and armies from outside. There are five classes for players to choose from as they traverse dungeons, hunt for artifacts, and ultimately decide the fate of the land in a wide variety of potential endings. Spiderweb Software stated that knowledge of the prior to Avadon games is not necessary for Avadon 3.
