Ellada Games' 2D action RPG, Niffelheim, becomes available to play through Steam's Early Access program today. The Early Access version will be available for PC, Mac, and Linux though pricing is not yet confirmed. The initial version is stated to features all core gameplay aspects and full graphical assets for one playable location in the game, with the remaining locations repeating those assets for the time being. Ellada Games plans to keep the game in Early Access for around a year before its full release.

Niffelheim is an exploration-focused RPG taking place in a hand-drawn Nordic fantasy world. The game requires players to explore the game's underworld through various dungeons and caverns in the hunt for food or other resources. Should players emerge safely from their excursions, they can start building their own settlements, complete with a castle, farms, and crafting buildings. Allies can also be brought on journeys through both AI characters and multiplayer.
