Supergiant Games, developer of Bastion and Transistor, today announced its latest project, Pyre. The game begins with players revived from the brink of death by masked wanderers seeking to learn about the Rites, a secret competition that allows its victors to return from exile with the past transgressions forgiven. Travelling across the Downside in the travellers' blackwagon, players will meet a variety of characters, with their actions dictating who succeeds in the Rites and who will remain in exile.

Pyre is currently scheduled for release sometime in 2017. Supergiant Games confirmed the game will launch simultaneously for PC and PlayStation 4.
