NIS America released new details and images for its upcoming tactical RPG, Grand Kingdom. This latest batch of information focuses on the game's class system. There are thirteen classes in total, with the Noble class that was released as DLC in Japan included in all copies of the western release.

The thirteen classes are split into four groups. The melee, ranged, and magic groups operate using a rock-paper-scissors system of effectiveness against each other. Members of the fourth group, specialist, fulfill very specific roles.

The melee group is made up of the Fighter, Lancer, Noble, Blacksmith, and Rogue, and focuses on combat. They have the ability to guard and negate a certain amount of damage, but are weak to magic attacks. Ranged units, made up of the Hunter and Gunner, can attack from any of the battlefield. They are good at disrupting magical enemies, but are suspectible to close combat. The magic group, which consists of the Witch, Shaman, and Arcanist, has a medium attack range. However, some of their abilties require charging, which can be disrupted by ranged attackers. Finally, the specialists Medic, Challegner, and Dragon Mage fulfill important roles, but lack the ability to contribute much outside of their specialised abilities.

Grand Kingdom is developed by MonoChro and Spike Chunsoft with involvement from some of the key staff behind Grand Knights History. The game is scheduled for release on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in North America on June 21, 2016, and in Europe on June 17, 2016.
