Capcom has announced that Dragon's Dogma Online, the free-to-play, multiplayer sequel to Dragon's Dogma, has a release date. The game opens in Japan on August 31, 2015, preceded by a four-day early access period beginning August 27, 2015. Players can gain access to the early access period by purchasing the game's retail limited edition, also available on August 27. Owners of a retail copy of the game also gain a unique set of equipment.

Capcom also demonstrated the visual differences between the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 versions of the game. The PlayStation 3 will run at 1280x720 with a cap of 30 frames per second while the PlayStation 4 version will run at 1920x1080 with a max of 60 frames per second. Capcom says the game will run at medium to high graphical settings while the PlayStation 4 will run with high to the highest settings.

Dragon's Dogma Online will release in Japan on PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3. There are currently no official plans to release the game in the West.
