Indie studio Ellada Games is bring a 2D open-world RPG to PC in 2016. Niffelheim is unsurprisingly heavily-inspired by Norse themes and features a hand-painted graphical style.

Niffelheim requires players to explore the game's underworld through various dungeons and caverns in the hunt for food or other resources. Should players emerge safely from their excursions, they can start building their own settlements, complete with a castle, farms, and crafting buildings. Allies can also be brought on journeys through both AI characters and multiplayer.
