Level Up Labs, the developer of the upcoming Defender's Quest II: Mists of Ruin, has announced that Nobuo Uematsu will be composing the main theme for the game. He will be working in collaboration with Kevin Penkin, the composer of the remainder of the soundtrack and that of original game. Defender's Quest II is scheduled for a 2014 release on PC and also features artwork from Dust: An Elysian Tail's developer and animator Dean Dodrill.

Lars Doucet from Level Up Labs had this to say about the news, "We're extremely excited to be working with Uematsu-san for our next project. I remember playing the first Final Fantasy game when I was just a kid, and in an age when most games had nothing but simple electronic blips, I was struck by how I was listening to real music. His music elevated the story-telling and really set the standard that all games are based on today."
