North American Tales fans recently had some good news when the release date for Tales of Xillia was announced. Now, European fans can join the fun, as the upcoming PS3 RPG now has an August 9 release date in that region.
In addition to the release date, Namco Bandai has revealed some non-standard editions for Europe. First, the company is releasing a Collector's Edition that is exclusive to its own online store and will only be produced in a limited quantity. In addition to the base game, this edition will contain a one hundred page artbook, a 21.5 cm statue of the game's heroine, Millia Maxwell, and a soundtrack. This edition is listed in the official store at the price of £79.99 or €99.99.
The company also revealed a Day One Edition that will be available at "selected retailers" at the same price as a normal edition. It will include a smaller artbook and the soundtrack. Pre-ordering either edition will give buyers access to exclusive DLC costumes for the two main characters and a PS3 theme.
Update: It has been confirmed that the Collector's Edition will be coming to North America. Unlike in Europe it will not be exclusive to Namco Bandai's own store, but so far it is only available for pre-order from GameStop. The North American edition has the same content as the European edition, and will cost $99.99.
