Final Fantasy Dimensions

Final Fantasy Dimensions was previously released for cell phones in Japan in 2010 under the name of Final Fantasy Legends: Warriors of Light and Darkness. At E3, Final Fantasy Dimensions was being demoed on the iPad. The game features a 2D 16-bit art style similar to that of Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. However, one of the largest differences is its touch screen features. To navigate through the game, the player can move the protagonist using a semi-transparent D-Pad featured on the bottom of the screen. While not in use, the D-Pad will become transparent, enabling the player to have a full view of the screen.

The battle command interface in Final Fantasy Dimensions is similar to the split screen battles found in older Final Fantasy games. On the top half of the screen the player will be able to see their battle party and enemies, while the bottom half features the party member’s names, HP, MP, and Active Time Bar. Characters in this game will be able to choose amongst a list of classes including Warrior, Thief, Summoner, Red Mage, Black Mage, and White Mage. Additionally, within each class players will be able to choose up to four character abilities such as Int percentage increase, Str percentage increase, Double Cast, Mug, and Steal.

If you are yearning for a bit of Final Fantasy nostalgia, look no further as Final Fantasy Dimensions is expected to be released on iOS and Android in July 2012.
