RPGamer is now covering DeathSpank, an action RPG created by Ron Gilbert and Hothead Games. Described as "Monkey Island meets Diablo", the game features a unique graphic style and over-the-top humor.

The player controls the titular hero, who travels around a large seamless world attempting to do good deeds and dispense justice. The fact that his deeds frequently backfire is central to the game's story, touted by the developer as "a real story...not a crappy video game story". As expected of a Diabloesque adventure, DeathSpank will feature a large arsenal of weapons and armor. It also includes several features commonly found in adventure games, such as a large cast of quirky characters and "mind-numbing" puzzles.

DeathSpank will be available on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network this summer. It may also be available on PC, although a PC version has not yet been officially announced.
