Nintendo recently announced solid release dates for many of its upcoming games. Several RPGs made the list:
September 18: Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team
September 18: Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team
September 25: Baten Kaitos Origins
October 9: Super Paper Mario
October 30: Children of Mana
For those unfamiliar, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team allow players to actually control Pokémon as they search for wounded Pokémon in dungeons. The two games will be for the DS and GBA respectively.
Baten Kaitos Origins is a card-based RPG that is a prequel to the original Baten Kaitos. Both games are for the GameCube.
Super Paper Mario is the third entry into the Paper Mario series and will feature a blending both genres and graphical styles. It mixes the RPG and platformer genres with both 2D and 3D graphics to create this second installment of the series to appear on the GameCube.
And Children of Mana is the first Seiken Densetsu game to appear on the DS. The game follows true to series' tradition, yet it also adds the ability to equip two weapons at a time and touch screen functionality.
Stay tuned to RPGamer for more information about these games as it's announced.
