While the release date for the DVD version of Square-Enix's second CG movie, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, has been common knowledge for more than a month now, the release of the UMD version has remained a mystery. Well, no longer will PSP owners have to speculate over when they can purchase the more portable of the movie's varieties, as Square-Enix recently made public the official release for the UMD. Fortunately, it is an easily remembered date: September 14, the same day as the DVD release.

The UMD will retail in Japan for 4800 yen, the same price as the DVD. Unlike the DVD, however, the UMD will sport no "limited" or "ultimate" editions. Instead, a selection of the movie's battle music will complement each UMD. The soundtrack from which the music is derived is scheduled for a later September release.
