An update on the Drag-On Dragoon 2 official site disclosed the existance of yet another new character: Hanch. A rather dark and frightening looking individual, Hanch is the guardian of the Key to the Water Seal.

Like the other guardians, Hanch is bonded to an elemental god; hers specifically is Kelpie. As a child she was cute, charming, and popular, possessing a smile that "shone like the sun." This all changed, though, during one fateful day of sailing when her boat capsized, nearly resulting in her death. Her life was only spared through Kelpie's union with her, a situation possibly forced upon her.

This link quickly came to the attention of the renowned Crimson Knights, who snatched up Hanch to make her a guardian. Despite all this, Hanch could not escape the fact that her bond was still a two-way bargain; in exchanged for Kelpie's power, Hanch had to forfeit her wonderful personality. Almost immediately after binding with Kelpie, people began avoiding her. This dislike has grown to such a point that even her subordinates refuse to associate with her.
