Phantasy Star Online

Today, Sega announced that more than 100,000 Japanese players have registered for the beta version of Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst for the PC. Roughly 50,000 of those users registered within the first week after testing began March 21.

Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst is based on the Xbox version of Phantasy Star Online Episodes I & II. It utilizes the same areas and equipment, but offers a number of improvements in the interface, including hotkeyed attacks and server-side character data storage.

The retail version of the game is scheduled for release in Japan on July 15. Though it was on display at E3, Sega of America has not confirmed a US release.
